A TEENAGE girl was left distressed after a motorist apparently threatened to smash the side window of a car in which she was a passenger in what police are describing as a road rage incident.
Now police in Bromsgrove are appealing for information about the incident which occurred on Charford Road, Charford, Bromsgrove.
It happened on Saturday, June 21, at around 5.40pm but police have only just released the details.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, has told police she had been cut up in her vehicle by the offender causing her to brake suddenly by the M42 junction on the A38 north of Bromsgrove about ten minutes earlier.
Angry gestures were exchanged between the drivers and the offending driver is then said to have driven erratically.
Both vehicles stopped at the traffic lights on Charford Road where the offending driver allegedly got out of his vehicle carrying what appears to have been a long silver metal bar.
The driver approached the victim's vehicle and, according to a police spokesman, mimicked smashing the passenger side window with the metal bar.
The suspect then slapped the wing mirror and got back into his own car before driving off.
The driver is described as a black man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, smartly dressed in a shirt and trousers, and with brown sunglasses on his head.
The vehicle was a silver Vauxhall Vectra sport turbo car, with a 52 plate.
PC Jake Wright of Bromsgrove Police said there was a 13-year-old girl in the victim's car who had been distressed by the incident.
He said: "Other drivers were stationary at the traffic lights at the location at the time and may have witnessed the incident and I am appealing for anyone with information to contact me on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
