A MAN who gave a stabbing victim a lift to Bromsgrove is being asked by police to come forward.
The driver gave the victim, a man in his 20s from Stourport, a lift to the town from Redditch after he had flagged him down, or thumbed a lift between 10.30pm and midnight on Tuesday, July 22.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear as the victim was picked up after an assault at an address in Evesham Mews, George Walk, Redditch, during which the man was stabbed several times in the back.
The man who gave him a lift was driving a silver 4x4 vehicle, and picked him up on a main road in Redditch, dropping him off in Bromsgrove. The driver was white, of large build, bald, wearing glasses and aged about 35 years old.
An ambulance was called to High Street, Bromsgrove, just after midnight on Wednesday, July 23, and the victim was taken back to Redditch, to the Alexandra Hospital, for treatment to puncture wounds in his back and a cut hand. He later discharged himself.
The driver who gave him a lift, or anyone else with information, is asked to contact DC Jessica Loxley or DC Sgt James Beard in Redditch CID on 08457 444888.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of wounding and released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
