Street Theatre fun is back

IT was smiles all round when the ever-popular Street Theatre returned to entertain the good people of Bromsgrove.

A whole host of free entertainment provided fun and frolics for all on the town’s Recreation Ground last Wednesday.

"We have more days on offer during the month and hope as many people as possible take advantage of them and come and enjoy themselves.”

Council chairman Caroline Spencer

The Black Eagles stole the show with the acrobatic troupe from Tanzania wowing crowds. Also prowling around was an enormous, animatronic smoke-breathing dragon led by the goblin queen for all to admire and pet.

A wide variety of stands encircled the centre of the ground offering loads of activities including face painting, hair braiding, circus skills and a drumming workshop.

The event, which ran from 10.30am to 2.30pm, was opened by council chairman Caroline Spencer.

She said: “It was a great privilege to welcome our visitors from near and far and the performing artists who once again did us proud. We have more days on offer during the month and hope as many people as possible take advantage of them and come and enjoy themselves.”

Another great show is due to take place today (Wednesday) with ‘shock and awe’ tactics by Cyberstein and Robot Titan, while on Wednesday, August 20, there will be a fairy tale entitled Frik and the Family Tree with Mother Nature telling the tale. While on Thursday, August 21, the story is to be re-enacted at St Chad’s Park in Rubery.
