Police found two child porn movie clips after raiding a 23-year-old man’s home, Worcester Crown Court heard.
Benjamin Davies had downloaded them from the internet. It was then found that he had failed to sign on the sex offenders’ register.
Davies was put on the register in December 2004 for 34 offences of making indecent photographs of children, for which he was also jailed for nine months, said Charles Hamer, prosecuting.
Nine years ago Davies was given a supervision order by a juvenile court for two indecent assaults on girls under the age of 13.
Davies, of Cloverdale, Stoke Prior, pleaded guilty to making indecent photographs of children and failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex register.
Judge Richard Rundell said he regarded Davies as “a danger to the public” but recognised the best way of offering protection was to get him professional help.
He gave Davies a three-year community order on condition that he attend the sex offenders’ group work programme.
Davies must also sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and be under a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for the same period.
Lisa Hancox, defending, said Davies was on incapacity benefit and lived with his brother. He had debts of £5,000 and faced county court proceedings.
Miss Hancox added: “He desperately needs help.”
