A TALENTED young musician from Bromsgrove hit all the right notes as he won 2009’s Youth Got Talent at the Artrix.
Ben Stancombe, aged 14, won the talent contest after his performances of Hotel California by The Eagles and I'm Yours by Jason Mraz wowed the judges in attendance.
Ben’s father Derek said: “It’s absolutely fantastic. He is still finding his feet and learning his way but he takes it all in his stride.
“There were some really tough acts and the standard of performances were really high.”
Ben started playing the guitar when he was four-years-old and the guitar when he was 10, and plays live gigs while also composing his own songs.
The show consisted of gymnastics, dancing and comedy but Ben’s talent got him the top prize.
“We are very proud of him but he doesn’t take any of this for granted - he is just happy being up on stage and playing,” added Derek.
Ben recently played at the Uxbridge Live Music venue supporting The Reason and also played on stage at the Bromsgrove Summer Concert in Sanders Park where he was joined by friends Oli, Dan and Aiden.
His aim is to eventually release his own album and anyone interested in finding out more about his music can log on to www.bens-music.co.uk
