Former parish chairman honoured with footpath

A PUBLIC footpath in Lickey has been named in honour of a former chairman of the parish council.

The footpath, off Monument Lane has been called Browns Way to honour retired chairman Ron Brown.

Ron served the parish council for many years, and members of his family and parish councillors attended an official naming ceremony on July 11.

Current parish council chairman, John Williams, said: “Those that live in the parish cannot fail to have noticed Ron’s influence in the area.

“He worked tirelessly during his chairmanship, and it is fitting that we acknowledge his contribution to Lickey and Blackwell in this way.”
