THREE twinkle-toed ballerinas who attend a Rubery dance and fitness group have perfected their pirouettes and been accepted onto prestigious Royal Ballet School programmes.
Imogen Russell Blunt, aged 8, and Ellie Morris, aged 9, attend Richardz Dance and Fitness, and auditioned during May with hundreds of other hopefuls, eventually being offered two of the few places available on the junior-associate programme.
Also from the same group, Emma Bennett, aged 13, has been attending the mid-associate classes for 12 months and has just received news that she was successful during her assessment and will continue for another year.
Teacher Joanne Lane said: "I am overjoyed that they have been accepted onto the program. They are three very talented girls and I am extremely proud of them and what they have achieved."
The junior, mid and senior-associates programmes exists for students between the ages of eight-15 to nurture them in their pursuit of excellence in pre-vocational classical ballet training.
The course is designed to augment and enhance an individual's current training and to introduce them to The Royal Ballet School's system of training alongside other gifted children who aspire to a career in dance.
Since the inception of the programme many associate pupils have progressed through the lower and upper school into the royal ballet companies.
All the girls have gained distinctions in all their Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams and this year have all qualified and competed at the regional finals of the All England Dance Competition
