THE Bromsgrove candidate for the British National Party has launched her bid to become the town’s MP with a pledge to campaign against mosques being built in the town.
The BNP named Elizabeth Wainwright as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Bromsgrove two weeks ago, the first time the party has put forward a candidate in the constituency.
An advert, placed in this week’s Advertiser/Messenger, includes a controversial policy to “oppose and campaign against any rumoured mosques being built.”
Alwyn Deacon, the West Midlands regional organiser for the party defended the policy. He said: “The majority of people in this country are against the building of mosques.”
