THE MP for Bromsgrove, Sajid Javid, recently paid a visit to The Trunk in Charford to see the good work that does on there.

The Trunk is a community centre which offers educational courses for young people, back to work courses and regular advice sessions with the Citizens' Advice Bureau.

While there, Mr Javid met with with Debbie Roberts of Empowering Peoplpe in Communities (EPIC).

The Trunk receives basic funding from Worcestershire County Council and is run by EPIC, which was awarded a grant from the county council’s voluntary and community scheme earlier this year.

Mr Javid said:”Although The Trunk and EPIC have existed for a number of years now, they are both excellent examples of the Big Society in action.

“The Trunk is an effective, sensible and economical way of delivering much-needed public services, targeting those who without doubt need help.

“The compassionate nature of Bromsgrove residents has always been clear to me, and I know that they will wish The Trunk every success in helping the people they deal with to overcome the challenges that face them and giving them a helping hand back into the community.”

The Trunk is based at 13-21 Humphrey Avenue in Charford. For more details about it and the services it offers, call 01527 878722.
