TO celebrate the clocks going back, residents are being encouraged to make up for lost time at Bromsgrove Library.

A campaign to help people become computer-literate is being supported by Bromsgrove Library, in Stratford Road.

Get Online Week, taking place between Sunday, October 30, and Tuesday, November 8, features taster sessions at the library where residents can learn how they can save time by doing more online, such as renewing library books, learning to email to stay in touch with family members, paying bills, applying for copy certificates, and visiting Worcestershire County Council’s website to report any problems.

Caroline Faulkner, Bromsgrove Library’s manager, said: "We are putting on a free taster course to help introduce people to the world wide web.

“Particularly for those who are not used to them, computers can be a bit intimidating but our friendly and informal course aims to make the unknown less scary.”

The library is holding a taster session on Monday, October 31 and Thursday, November 3, between 2-4pm. Booking is required and refreshments are available.

Volunteers already computer-literate are invited to pledge their time to help others brush up on their computer skills at the taster sessions. Volunteers can apply by visiting go-on.co.uk/giveanhour.
