BROMSGROVE people have no excuse for putting off DIY jobs with the opening of a new hardware store in Aston Fields.

Hinge and Bracket is opening today, Wednesday, November 2, at 142 New Road.

With the loss of Focus Do It All, the shop should prove a welcome addition to residents, and is opening in the same building as a former hardware shop which served the community many years ago.

It will cater to all DIY home and garden needs, building materials, seasonal products, also kitchens and bathrooms, UPVC windows doors and conservatories which can be fitted by owner Dave Powell’s other business, DAP Building Contractors, with has been operating in and around Bromsgrove for eight years.

Dave said: “This unit was once a hardware shop called Roy Jeffery's. Whilst renovating the shop, many residents commented on how pleased they are to see it go back to being a hardware/ironmongers, which is very encouraging.

“We welcome all new customers, diy and trade, and pensioners can benefit from discount schemes.

“In the current economic market, opening a new business is a big risk but I feel it’s a much-needed service and I hope residents will benefit from what we provide “I would like to thank all involved in setting up the new shop.”

Town MP Sajid Javid, who recently visited the shop, said: “I was extremely impressed with it, especially the range of products.

“It’s always good to see new businesses such as this open. It will be a huge asset to the community.

“With the loss of Focus in Bromsgrove, I think the opening of another store which caters to people’s DIY needs is great.”

The shop will open seven days a week. Call 01527 570211 for more details.
