YOUNGSTERS at a Bromsgrove school have enjoyed an explosive scientific experiment as part of their science classes.
Year three pupils from Bromsgrove Preparatory School, in Old Station Road, took part in a range of volcanic-related activities on January 24, as part of their science studies on rocks.
The day began with a variety of video clips and a talk by an expert, which was then followed by a volcano-themed treasure hunt quiz, all around the school’s Maple building.
The pupils also created volcano chalk pictures, and for the main event there was a team challenge of making salt dough volcanoes, and then watching them erupt using food colouring, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar.
Year three teacher at Bromsgrove Preparatory School, Geraldine Butler, praised the children for their enthusiasm for the subject.
