Schools in shock after Hagley pupil's death

STAFF and pupils at a Hagley school are in shock after the sudden death of a teenager yesterday.

The 15-year-old pupil, from Haybridge High School, Brake Lane, died at Birmingham Children's Hospital after being airlifted from Baxter College in Kidderminster where he collapsed during a rugby match.

Haybridge headteacher, Caroline Hoddinott, said: "As a school we have experienced a tragic loss. Our thoughts are with family and friends.

David Seddon, Baxter College principal, said: "It's a tragic loss of a young life, our thoughts are with his family, friends and his school."

Haybridge High School has confirmed it will be open as normal today.
