THE town MP has visited Bromsgrove’s new Life After Stroke Centre following its opening to the public earlier this year.

Sajid Javid took a tour around the centre, in Church Lane, earlier this month, escorted by childhood stroke survivor Stuart Cooper, who now works for the Stroke Association.

The centre is the new headquarters for the charity, and cost £2.2 million to build.

The MP met stroke survivors from the region, watched members participate in a Tai Chi taster session, and met staff who work on the national stroke helpline based at the centre.

Mr Javid purchased a brick on the charity’s honour wall, as a sign of his support.

Mr Javid said: “This state-of-the-art centre will offer crucial help and support to stroke survivors and their families.

“This is the first such centre of its kind, and I am delighted it has been built in Bromsgrove – it will help many people in our area and throughout the wider region.”

Anyone wishing to support the new centre can buy a brick by visiting stroke.org.uk/honourwall.
