A POIGNANT comedy set in 1959 will be coming to the Palace Theatre.

Heroes tells the story of three French veterans of World War 1 Gustav, Philippe and Henri who pass their time dreaming about young women and arguing over whether a statue of a dog is alive.

They decide to escape from the soldiers’ Home they are in and travel to China, or at least as far as the poplar trees on the hill.

Hampered only by how they are going to move the statue of the dog that one of them wishes to bring with them, they plan their escape with military precision.

The charming comedy, from Duckbrothers Theatre Producktions, features the well known actors Henry Amphlett, Paul Southcott and local actor and musician David Rex.

The show is in The Room Upstairs at the Palace on May 18 and 19 and is suitable for 13 years plus.
