STUCK for something to buy this Father’s Day? Worcestershire County Council's Waste Prevention Team is urging residents to buy something green as a gift this year – perhaps a compost bin, a garden shredder or even a recycled drink's glass.
Everyone can help to reduce the amount of waste generated by thinking carefully before buying and following a few shopping tips.
Buy items in less packaging or in recyclable packaging, buy goods that will last rather than disposable goods, buy useful gifts like a compost bin or wormery from letswasteless.com, buy items made from recycled materials and reuse - visit a local reuse or charity shops for some real bargains. Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 17. For more information on waste and recycling visit letswasteless.com and to buy a compost bin visit getcomposting.com or call 0844 571 4444
