FOR one local man running with an Olympic Torch just wasn’t enough.
After carrying the flame through Earlswood in Warwickshire on July 1 Paralympian Glenn Scott undertook a tour of his own.
The 19-year-old, who hopes to take part in the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio, visited Woodfield Middle School, Batchley First School and Moundsley Hall Care Village.
He also paid a visit to his former school Kingsley College.
As well as showing off the torch Mr Scott, from Bromsgrove, spoke about his condition Talipes (club feet) and how he only started running three years ago.
Despite the late start however, he is Junior National champion in the 100m and 200m races, ranked seventh in the world and competes in disabled races both nationally and internationally.
Mr Scott said: “Sunday, July 1 was a fabulous day, it was simply amazing and meeting other torch bearers with inspirational stories was brilliant.
“Running with the torch was something I will never forget.”
Aside from his athletic achievements Mr Scott also does voluntary coaching at an athletic club for disabled children and is an ambassador for a charity for underprivileged children in Sierra Leone, raising more than £3,000 for it last year.
A spokesman from Kingsley College said: “It was wonderful to have Glenn back.
“What he has achieved so far is brilliant, he proved such an inspiration to all the students here.”
