YOUNGSTERS at a Bromsgrove nursery have been preparing for the Olympic games with their own mini-Olympics.

And youngsters were given a special treat when Olympic torchbearer Paul Hutchins dropped by to show off a real life Olympic torch.

Children from Abacus Nursery, in Lickey End, began their games with their own torch procession with youngsters carrying torches they had made, followed by the lighting of the their own cauldron.

During the games, youngsters were split into two teams, the elephants and the lions, with running races held. Participants all received a medal for their efforts.

The event raised money for the British Heart Foundation, who provided balloons and stickers for the event.
