Two men arrested after 30 bikes stolen from North Bromsgrove High School
7:20am Wednesday 8th August 2012 in News
POLICE are appealing for help to trace mountain bikes stolen from North Bromsgrove High School after recovering three out of 30 taken in a burglary there.
Two men were arrested in Bromsgrove on Monday, August 6 on suspicion of stealing the bikes after breaking into two storage containers on the grounds off School Drive between July 24 and August 5.
They are currently being questioned by officers at Redditch Police Station.
The bikes that were stolen are all Btwin Rockrider 5.1 mountain bikes which have grey frames with orange trim and white forks. They have various frame sizes.
PC Dave Hanson, who is investigating, said: "We believe these bikes may have been offered for sale locally and we very much want to hear from anyone who may have unwittingly bought one or been
approached to buy one.
“A couple of those we have recovered had the ‘Rockrider 5.1' stickers removed from the frame, probably to try to disguise where they had come from.
"If anyone knows where these bikes are now or has any other information about who took them then please come forward and tell us immediately. We would also like to speak to anyone who has heard or
seen any suspicious activity around the school that could be linked to this."
Anyone with information can contact PC Hanson at Bromsgrove Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 668-S-060812, or pass details anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
