Security reminder after Cofton Hackett burglary

BROMSGROVE police are reminding residents to be security-conscious after a Cofton Hackett burglary in which a vehicle was taken.

It is believed thieves entered the house in Cofton Lake Road through an unlocked or open window, stealing keys to a blue Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck and a black BMW X5.

Both vehicles were then stolen from the drive, and are yet to be found.

The burglary happened at the property between 10pm on Tuesday, August 28, and 5.45am on August 29. Police describe the burglary as opportunistic, with the thieves easily being able to sneak into the house without disturbing the occupiers.

A police spokesman said: "Don't make it easy for thieves by forgetting the basics.

“Make sure doors and windows are shut firmly and locked - especially overnight when you go to bed.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicles, since they were last seen, to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference number 64S 290812.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
