YOUNG people at NEW College are being offered a high-flying opportunity.

The college has formed a partnership with Servisair, a provider of aviation ground services, to help set up an aviation-training course.

The course requires no previous qualifications, and will be delivered at Redditch Campus’ million pound purpose built facility.

Tutor Becky Mansell, who secured the partnership, said: “It’s an excellent opportunity to build a partnership such as this and to be able to deliver the provision in the college’s facilities that include mock airport fuselage and check-in desk.”

The 21-week evening course, with a guaranteed interview at the end, begins in September and is open to anyone over the age of 18.

Younger candidates may also be able to start on the course.

Dave Rogers, from Servisair, added: “We are delighted to be able to support the college in delivering qualifications for our sector.

“The course puts students in great stead for future employment within the aviation industry.”
