Dog injured by intruder during Bromsgrove burglary

BROMSGROVE police are investigating a burglary at a house in Stoke Prior in which a dog was badly injured.

The burglar broke into the property in Hanbury Road between 5.15-7.15pm on Sunday, (September 2), while the owner was out.

The owner’s eight-year-old Collie was badly injured by the intruder as it tried to defend the property. It was later taken to the vets to receive treatment for an injured eye.

The burglar left with cash that was taken from a purse.

Detective Constable Adrian Smith said: “This was a particularly nasty incident as the dog was left badly injured.

"We are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the area on Sunday evening, or thinks they know who the burglar is."

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Smith on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 611-S-020912, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
