Police charge six men with conspiracy to burgle properties

POLICE have charged six men with conspiracy to burgle 56 commercial properties, including seven in Bromsgrove.

West Mercia Police’s investigation looked at burglaries at business premises including golf clubs and garden centres over an area including Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, and Warwickshire.

Property worth hundreds of thousands of pounds was stolen.

A total of seven arrests were originally made.

Terence Hodgkins, 35, of Whittall Drive East, Kidderminster, and Jamie Worrall, 26, of Masons Close, Halesowen, appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates Court on August 30, charged with conspiracy to burgle at various locations nationally between June 1-October 30 in 2011.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on November 26.

Jordan Taylor, 21, of Beecher Road, Halesowen, appeared before Kidderminster magistrates on August 31 facing the same conspiracy to burgle charge, and another charge of stealing cable from Sherborne Homes Ltd at Wollescote, Stourbridge, in August this year.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on December 3.

Two other Kidderminster men, aged 42 and 25, were arrested on August 31 and charged with conspiracy to burgle. They were released on police bail to appear before Kidderminster magistrates on September 13.

Another Kidderminster man, aged 20, was arrested on Monday, (September 3), also charged with conspiracy to burgle.

He was due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court yesterday.

One of those arrested, a woman, was released and no further action was being taken against her.

The police say more arrests are being planned.
