Homeowner's tools used to break into Rubery property

Jewellery and electrical items were taken in the burglary which happened at a property in Rednal Hill Lane on Tuesday, September 11.
Between 11.15am-3.45pm, thieves broke in using tools left out by the homeowner, and made an untidy search of the property.
They stole an Apple iPod docking station, worth £50, a Dell laptop, worth £250, an iPhone 4 charger, worth £40, an assortment of costume jewellery and a Tiffany & Co bracelet, worth £150.
Detective Constable Ed Slough warned residents not to leave out tools or equipment that could be used to break into your home.
“Make sure they are locked away out of sight whenever you go out,” DC Slough said.
"We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing suspicious activity in the area, particularly any cars parked in unusual circumstances.
"If anyone is offered jewellery or electrical items for sale, like the ones stolen, and is in any doubt about their source we would urge them to call us as soon as possible."
