Town hairdressing salon recognised for fund-raising efforts

A BROMSGROVE hairdressing salon has been recognised by a national children’s charity following a successful fund-raiser in Droitwich.

Staff at George Davis Hairdressing, in St John Street, have been presented with a commemorative plaque from Caudwell Children.

The salon’s staff raised £11,000 for the charity, which provides life-changing treatment, equipment, therapy and family support services to sick and disabled children throughout the UK.

Money was raised at a hair and fashion extravaganza that saw more than 350 people fill the Chateau Impney Hotel in Droitwich.

The charity is close to the heart of staff member Johanna Lane. Her sister Karis was born with Cerebral Palsy and is now a fund-raising ambassador for the charity.

The event was also held in memory of salon owner George Davis’s Mum, Edna.

Trudi Beswick, chief executive of Caudwell Children, said: “We wanted to show our appreciation for the hard work and support of those at George Davis Hairdressing for their outstanding contribution to help change the lives of sick and disabled children.

“It is thanks to the hard work and generosity of companies and individuals like this that allow us to continue our vital work.”

George Davis said his staff were inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of the charity, and together they created a spectacular night.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the charity, or who wants to hold a fund-raiser for them, is asked to call Mary Rose on 01782 600433 or email mary.rose@caudwellchildren.com.
