Bromsgrove B&B announced as finalist in county competition

VOTING for this year’s Worcestershire Welcome Awards, in association with Worcestershire County Council and now in their fourth year, has now closed.

And a Bromsgrove business has been announced as one of the finalists.

Most of the categories in this year’s awards mirror those in the national Visit England Awards For Excellence 2012.

The only way Worcestershire businesses could compete in the national awards was to be placed in the top three for their category in the Worcestershire Welcome Awards.

The finalists from each category have been announced and in the Bed and Breakfast and Guest Accommodation of the Year, Overwood B&B, in Woodcote Lane, is among the top three.

The B&B is now to assessed along with the other finalists by a panel of independent judges in the next few weeks.

Finalists are to be judged on a range of criteria including the passion for Worcestershire, and the support of other businesses, including using local produce where possible.

Winners are to be announced at the Worcestershire Welcome Awards Ceremony, being held at Worcester Rugby Club on Thursday, October 18.
