STAFF at a Bournheath pub are celebrating after winning an award in a mystery customer scheme.
The Nailer’s Arms, in Doctors Hill, took part in the scheme run by pub company Punch Taverns and judged by Cask Marque, the national body that checks beer quality and the quality of the customer experience.
During the first mystery customer visit the pub was assessed on how regularly it cleans its beer lines.
On a second visit a mystery Cask Marque assessor looked as first impressions on entering the pub, the customer service, the bar and drink quality, food experience and general cleanliness and retail standards.
After successfully passing the visit the pub was given a prestigious award as its service standards was judged as excellent.
Licensee, Phil Witherford, said: “I believe it is essential to serve good quality food and drink, and more importantly, you can’t have a good pub without good staff and the team do an excellent job.”
