The power of music on show at Bromsgrove care home

RESIDENTS at a Bromsgrove care home could be getting a visit from some familiar faces.

As part of Bupa’s Musical Moments week a number of tribute and entertainment acts will be performing at Heathbrook House Nursing Home.

Members of the community are also being invited to join in the fun, on Thursday, October 4.

Running from October 1 to 7 the nationwide event celebrates music through the ages and is aimed at promoting the therapeutic benefits music offers older people.

Heather Hunter, care home manager, said: “It doesn’t matter if you have a favourite musical legend or just love listening to music, we’re going to get everyone involved in celebrating how powerful music is in lifting spirits, getting minds dancing and toes tapping.”

Susan Ross, from Bupa, added: “Music plays a huge role in unlocking memories and bringing everyone together.
“Anyone who wants to join us, or even help us recreate a musical era, will be very welcome."
