Police investigate Charford burglary
4:00pm Monday 24th September 2012 in News
A COMPUTER, jewellery and other items were stolen in a burglary in Charford.
The incident happened at a flat in Austin Road, between noon-4.30pm on Saturday, (September 22).
Damage of £500 was caused to the property's door.
Items taken included a black Dell laptop worth £150, an XBox worth £150, a small Yale safe worth £35, a Fila watch worth £70, a Kahuna watch worth £35, a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone worth £100, and a silver ring with an unknown value.
West Mercia Police have now launched Citadel, a new initiative aimed at driving down the number of burglaries committed in the force area.
The system uses a range of operational tactics such as greater analysis of crime patterns, coordinated use of new technology such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition software, partnership work and high visibility patrols in burglary hotspots.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact PC Samantha Pengelly at West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
