A BROMSGROVE woman and her colleagues have adopted a hair raising new look for a cancer charity campaign.

Town resident Victoria Roberts, the area volunteer manager for Cancer Research UK in Bromsgrove, roped her colleagues Paula Ellison, Lizzie Melvin and Sian Billingsley, into a challenge to have their hair stand on end.

The four decided to have the wild hairstyles to raise money for the new national campaign Stand Up To Cancer.

The campaign, being run by Cancer Research UK, aims to raise money to accelerate groundbreaking research to help more people survive and ensure more families stay together.

Victoria said: “Making your hair stand on end is just one of the fun ways to join the fight.

“People can make a donation or get sponsored to go to work with barnets like Jedward or Marge Simpson - and for those who are follicly challenged, there is always the option of sporting a spiky wig.

“We need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the fight against a disease which affects one in three people in the UK at some stage in their lives.”

As well as organising fund-raising events, supporters can pop into Bromsgrove’s Cancer Research UK shop, in High Street, and purchase t-shirts, hoodies, watches, wristbands and other accessories, to support the campaign.
