Man charged with burglary in which dog was injured

POLICE have charged a man with a burglary at Stoke Prior, in which a dog was injured.

A reward was put up by villagers to help catch the offender after the dog lost an eye during the break in at Hanbury Road on September 2 while the owner, an elderly woman, was out.

Detectives yesterday (October 2) arrested a 20-year-old Dudley man who was subsequently charged with burglary and stealing a purse and cash worth a total of £225.

He was released on police bail to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 16.
