A cyclist suffered a potentially very serious head injury after a collision with a car in Bromsgrove.
The collision happened at around 7.35am this morning, (October 4) at the junction of Worcester Road and Hanbury Road in Stoke Heath.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “At the time of the crash, an ambulance was dealing with a medical case literally just round the corner.
"Members of the public went to alert the crew.
“While one continued to treat the existing patient, the other requested a second ambulance be dispatched to the initial incident while on route to the crash scene.
“On arrival, they found a 34-year-old woman cyclist who had suffered a potentially serious head injury.
"Her bike had considerable damage.
“An air ambulance was requested and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire aircraft was sent."
The woman was treated at the scene.
She was immobilised before being taken by land ambulance to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
A man and a woman were in the car and although shaken, they were uninjured.
