THIS year’s successful Olympic games is being celebrated with a special exhibition at a Bromsgrove theatre.

To celebrate the London Games, each of Britain’s branches of the Embroiderer's Guild were allocated one of the competing nations.

Members then produced more than 3,000 embroidered postcard-sized pieces showing aspects of their country, including costume and landscape.

The individual mini works have formed the exhibition Stitching a Welcome to Athletes of the World, which has been touring around the country since April.

The tour’s final stop is in Bromsgrove, at the Artrix Theatre in School Drive.

The exhibition is available to view now, and will run until Sunday, November 4.

It will be open to the public during the Artrix’s opening hours, Monday to Saturday, between 10am-4pm.

For more details on the exhibition see the Artrix’s website, artrix.co.uk.
