RUBERY Drama Group is performing a classic play this October.

The group is performing Death in High Heels between October 25-27 at Beacon Church Centre, in Whetty Lane.

The play is a whodunnit set in a London fashion house in 1937.

It is by Richard Harris, and is based on Christianna Brand's debut crime novel.

Director Jayne Worth said: “This is my first foray into directing as usually I am the one treading the boards, having been with the group for around six years.

“In this play I have also been able to include two new members of the group Jo Anscombe and Paul Harris, and the play is also new for 2012 so lots of new starts.”

The group is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and some members of the group who will be performing were there when the group originally began.

Each night of the performance doors will open at 7pm, with curtain up at 7.30pm.

Tickets for a show are priced at £6, £5.50 for concessions.

The group is always looking for people to come and join either in acting roles, or to help out with many of the backstage and front of house tasks.

For tickets, or to learn more about joining the group, call 0121 445 2323 or 0121 453 3261.
