A REQUEST to all Bromsgrove and Droitwich cyclists, although for the particular attention of two gentleman whom I pass daily who are cycling from Bromsgrove towards Droitwich around 7.30am.

It is against the law to cycle in the dark without lights. The reason being is so that someone like myself will not have to feel guilty when they have run you over. Around 150 cyclists are killed each year. Let's not have any of them in the local area.

I am constantly passing adults, who should know better, without lights or the inadequate flashing LED' lights. These lights' that many people buy are not sufficient to do the job. Lights are meant to be permanently on, so these tiny flashing lights are very hard to see. The front white ones can often dazzle, whilst the tiny rear lights do not help the cyclists to be seen from behind.

I am not anti-cyclist as I have cycled to work myself - but I made sure I could be seen with proper lights. Please in these winter months, for your own saftey, and that of your children... buy lights.
