IT has recently come to my attention, that Bromsgrove District Council believes it has improved that quickly, they have decided on requesting a second Comprehensive Performance Assessment from the Audit Commission.
Last year it was rated as 'Poor'. In the letter of application they outlined improvements in the reduction of crime, regeneration of Bromsgrove's town centre, improved re-cycling facilities and a 20 per cent increase on meeting Government standards.
Are they not being a little premature?

We all know that police crime figures are not a true representation of crime and doesn't represent crime that goes unreported. I also think that Bromsgrove's regeneration of the town centre should be fully completed before another assessment is undertaken, and as far as recycling goes - I think the council knows the towns people's views on the subject. Start charging and there will be an uproar.
All I can say to the council is 'think'and listen to people's views. In all we want a better service and not a council that is flippant with our taxes and is always thinking of ways to squeeze more money out of its residents.
Car parking being a prime example and thoughts of charging residents over waste, which we already pay for in our Council Tax.
