A QUICK look at some prices realised at Bromsgrove's Tuesday produce auction showed King Edward potatoes went for 34/- per hundredweight, cucumbers 1/2 each, wild rabbits 8/- a pair, hens' eggs 4/- per dozen and goose eggs 1/2 each.
THE future for pig farmers in Bromsgrove and Droitwich was looking bleak. It followed a reduction of 2/- a score in the guaranteed prices of their animals when they went to market. They claimed the government was not interested in the plight of the home industry and was more concerned about importing cheap meat from abroad.
