Pictures come flooding in

SCHOOL DAZE: Pupils from Watt Close Secondary Modern School, Bromsgrove, in the late 1940s.

I MENTIONED here some time ago that we've never had many photos of Watt Close Secondary Modern School, Bromsgrove, to feature in Memory Lane, writes Pete Lammas. This prompted several readers to delve through their photo albums and I'm happy to report one or two have sent in their pictures to us. This one comes from a reader who wishes to remain anonymous and dates from the late 1940s.

It shows the head, Major Bridge, on the left, whose death 50 years ago, incidentally, was mentioned in Memory Lane on April 16. The names below have been supplied by two or more people and differ slightly, my apologies if any are wrong They are, back row from the left, George Davis, Donald Snellus, G Simpson, John Rowlands, Tony Tansell, Derek Shuck, John Irish, G Woodhouse, B Wilkes and Brian Bedford.

Centre, Major Bridge, Derek Jelfs, Gordon Cairns, David Drysdale, John Parker, Pat Wood, Harvey Grazier, John Wallis, John Ross and Mr Caldwell. Front, A Underwood, Peggy Phillips, May Bradley, June Prescott, M Adams, Dorothy Crossley, Shirley Stokes, P Harper, Margaret Harrison, Doreen Phillips, Elsie Brookes, H Bunigar and June White.
