EMERGENCY services in Bromsgrove joined forces as part of a campaign to tackle crime at a local beauty spot over the Easter weekend.
Firefighters patrolled the Lickey Hills, which along with the Waseley and Clent Hills, have experienced ongoing problems with the thefts of valuables, taken from the vehicles of visitors.
Town firefighters gave out crime prevention leaflets, looked out for suspicious activity and passed on numbers of vulnerable vehicles to the police.

“When we are not attending incidents or training we’re happy to assist the police by promoting crime prevention and acting as additional eyes and ears on the Lickey Hills.”
Bromsgrove fire station manager Steve Fellows

"When we are not attending incidents or training we're happy to assist the police by promoting crime prevention and acting as additional eyes and ears on the Lickey Hills."
PC Jayne Willetts, of Rubery police, said: "Although we will be paying extra attention to the Lickey Hills ourselves, we cannot be there all the time, so their assistance is much appreciated." Police has issued crime prevention advice to motorists visiting beauty spots, including to only bring essential items for a walk, lock vehicles and close windows, and use an alarm if one is fitted.
