Drugs and cash seized in raid
BROMSGROVE police have made four arrests after seizing quantities of drugs and cash in raids across the district.
Police seized 300 ecstasy tablets, half a kilo of cannabis, around £4,000 in cash, and a quantity of amphetamines in powder form, during the raids. A quantity of a substance, believed to be cocaine, was also seized and this is currently being analysed.
Officers executed the raids at three properties in Catshill and one in Charford on the morning of Friday, May 2, after gaining warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Four men were arrested, one on suspicion of possessing a Class A controlled drug. They were given police bail until Tuesday, June 17, pending further inquiries. Three of the men were also cautioned for possession of cannabis.
Sergeant Nick Husbands said: "Bromsgrove, like many other districts, has its drug dealers and users. Unfortunately drugs blight communities, causing misery and hardship and our message to those peddling such misery is drug dealing will not be tolerated.
"People who are selling drugs had better be aware they could well be next on our list.
"However, the police and partner agencies cannot tackle this issue alone and we need the public to help us by giving us information. People can anonymously report those involved in the supply of drugs through the national Crimestoppers campaign," he added.
Anyone with information on drug misuse should call the police on 08457 444 888, or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
