REPORTS are still coming in about weird lights in the night sky over Bromsgrove and Droitwich. One resident, however, is sure she knows what they are. Mandy Brown, from Vines Lane in Droitwich, has identified them as UFO fire lanterns. She said: "Apparently they are all the rage at music festivals and outdoor parties and are basically a candle in a bag that floats off into the sky looking spectacular. You can get packs of them for sale on e-bay." No doubt Steve Nicholson, from Aston Field in Bromsgrove, will be relieved. He said: "I saw a single glowing orange ball with a red crown rise up over houses towards the Oakalls area. It didn't flicker or flash and moved at a steady pace in a dead straight line. There was no tail or light signature to speak of other than the glow and I could see no physical structure around the light. I have never seen anything like it before and would love an explanation as to what it was."
