Motorway crash

7:03am Saturday 19th July 2008

A WOMAN suffered neck injuries following a collision on the M42 on Monday, July 14.

Firefighters were called to the incident at 11.10am after a vehicle had gone into the hard shoulder on the M42 eastbound between junction one, Lickey End, and junction two, Alvechurch, overturning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, with possible spinal injuries.

Crews were also called to two incidents on Tuesday, July 15.

Firefighters extinguished a blaze in the garden of a property in Callowbrook Lane, Rubery, just after midnight. At 4.15am, crews went out to extinguish a rubbish fire in three metal containers next to the Spar convenience store in Golden Cross Lane, Catshill.

One hose reel was used, and the fire caused faults to the electrics and flats above the shop. No one was injured in either incident.
