A LINK between a Bromsgrove and Gambian school continues to go from strength to strength.

North Bromsgrove High School played host to visitors Musa Mbenga, a science teacher and the link coordinator, Foday Jawla, the headboy, and Fatou Cessay, the headgirl.

“The thriving link between our school and Armitage is 21 years old this year and is a valuable cultural-exchange experience for students.”

Sue Ballard, headteacher of North Bromsgrove High

The visitors are from the Armitage Senior Secondary School.

The schools' link has been in place for more than two decades thanks to the help of organisers Mike Carrick and Mike Hendley.

This year the guests have been involved with various curriculum projects, arts and musical events, and visits to places of interest around the town.

Mike Carrick said: "We have made many good friends over the years. It is almost like one big family of Gambians and British."

Sue Ballard, headteacher of North Bromsgrove High, said: "The thriving link between our school and Armitage is 21 years old this year and is a valuable cultural-exchange experience for students."
