Councillors' surgery

SLIDESLOW ward residents are being invited to their councillors surgery this Saturday, May 17. Bromsgrove District Councillors Caroline Spencer and Diane Campbell are giving anyone with concerns, or issues, the opportunity to raise them at the surgery, which will be held at St Godwald's Church Hall, Finstall Road, Aston Fields. The surgery will run from 10am to noon.

Thousands of red envelopes ready for donations have been making their way through residents' letterboxes this week. Power cut at school

pupils from a town school enjoyed an extended weekend in the sun when their school was forced to close due to a power cut. Electricity was lost at South Bromsgrove High School on Monday with pupils getting the day off. A-level exams went ahead as planned during the afternoon. A spokesman for Worcestershire County Council said Central Networks fixed the problem and restored the power, with pupils returning to the school yesterday (Tuesday).
