The newly-formed Bromsgrove and Redditch fundraising committee for Guide Dogs for the Blind held a collection outside Morrisons which raised £1,878. We are very grateful to Morrisons and the generosity of their customers. As one guide dog costs around £30,000 we are continuing our fundraising efforts and the next event will be the Lions fun day at Arrow Valley Park, Redditch, on June 14, when we shall have a stall and there will be an opportunity to be blindfold and led around an obstacle course by a guide dog. We are also planning a midsummer ball on June 20 at the Gainsborough Hotel, Kidderminster. Tickets are £30 or £250 for a table of ten and can be booked from Pam on 01527 834953. Anyone who would like to help guide dogs should phone Alison on 01527 404991.

Les helps run the Matlock Railway Club and he also has a very large selection of cine films, which he shows on their club nights, plus he does a number of presentations to other groups as well.
