Windsor Gardens Lunch Club runs every Monday to Friday between 12noon and 1.30pm for people who need support in obtaining a nutritional meal. The club was launched by the WRVS in 1988 and so far, 49 people have signed up to get a balanced and nutritional meal and socialise with others.
Clive Webley, food operations manager at WVRS, said: "We'd like to say a big thank you for showing an interest in joining our club. We have had a really good response and those that have come along have thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
Those that qualify for the club are people who need support in obtaining a nutritional meal. However, because the service is subsidised, not everyone is able to buy their meal for £2.77, contrary to previous publicity.

Clive added "We're sorry, but an error was made in the original advert and access to the lunch club is via an eligibility criteria. We'll ensure anyone who drops-in can obtain a meal at £2.77 while the assessment takes place. Thank you for your patience in the matter and please accept our apologies for this misunderstanding".
The club is run by the WVRS in partnership with Worcestershire County Council. To access this lunch club, residents can either call the WRVS Redditch office and speak to Julie or Michelle on 01527 60485 or call the Worcestershire County Council Access Centre on 0845 607 2000, where details will be taken and an assessment arranged.
