The Journey was the title of the flower demonstration by Virginia Davis, assisted by Christine Huzzey, staged at Stoke Works Social Club, by kind permission of Neil Toothill. The event was hugely popular, attracting an enthusiastic attendance and raising the sum of £800 for new equipment for the servery to be constructed in St Michael's Church, Stoke Prior.
Virginia's presentation began at St Michael's Church and proceeded joyfully, eventually ending at The Ritz in London. On the way there had been stops at historic sites, all illustrated by spectacular floral arrangements which were the prizes awarded at the raffle.
Pete O'Connor gave a vote of thanks to Virginia and Christine and the band of helpers who had all made the afternoon so successful. And of course, the final pleasure was the traditional afternoon tea served by traditional nippies' in traditional nippy' outfits. Long may we celebrate tradition!
