THE National Hairdressers Federation has named a Kidderminster woman as Britain’s best hair salon receptionist.
Kim Newbold, 55, who works at Elizabeth and Giovanni’s, in Hurcott Road, was voted this year’s best receptionist in the country at the Britain’s Best hairdressing event.
The event, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, was a nationwide competition to find the best hairdressers and salon employees.
A text vote was held where clients, peers, friends and colleagues could nominate and vote for their favourite.
Mrs Newbold, who has worked at Elizabeth and Giovanni’s for three years, said: “I was totally in shock when my name was announced. I knew why I was there but somehow you never think it will be you.
“This would not have been possible for me without the support of my wonderful employees, Elizabeth and Giovanni and everyone that I work with in the salon, and of course all of the voters. I’ve never won an award in my life before this one will be truly cherished.”
