REDDITCH-based distribution specialist Oakland International has joined the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA).
The association is the official voice of the contract packing and manufacturing industry in the UK. Business growth in the contract packing sector is providing a focus for Oakland’s 2013 sales strategy.
The firm’s managing director Dean Attwell said: “The association plays a key role promoting outsourcing within the industry and we are delighted to become a member.”
Oakland’s contract packing operation covers ambient, chilled, frozen food and non-food lines.
Rodney Steel, chief executive of the BCMPA, said: “Contract packing is set to grow dramatically in 2013 and fits neatly as an integral part of the wider logistics offering provided by Oakland International. We are delighted to welcome them as BCMPA members.”
