Worcestershire County Council's Archive and Archaeology service is giving people the chance to "Meet the Conservator" on Thursday November 21, from 2pm at The Hive at Worcester.
It's an opportunity for people to find out about what a conservator does and what techniques are used to clean, repair and protect our precious manuscripts to ensure they will be safe for many more hundreds of years.
Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service's Conservator, Rhonda Niven will be explaining what she does and demonstrating some of the techniques she uses. There are over 12 miles of shelves of archives, covering the past 900 years.
This event is part of Explore Your Archive, an awareness campaign about the amazing resources we have in archives across Worcestershire.
Rhonda Niven, Conservator, Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service, said: "Most of my work as conservator happens behind the scenes, but we know people are fascinated with the process, so this is a great opportunity to find out how we look after the documents."
Places are free but need to be booked in advance. For more information, call 01905 766352 or email explorethepast@worcestershire.gov.uk or visit the Explore the Past desk on level 2 in The Hive.
